Viikon kuvassa on lähikuva maakotkasta syömässä näätää.

Olemme tänä vuonna ruokkineet kotkia jo syyskuusta alkaen ja marraskuussa parhaina päivinä ruokinnalla on ollut jopa viisi maakotkaa. Ruokintapaikallamme on lämmitettävät, mukavat piilokojut joiden suojista pääsee kuvaamaan kotkia lähietäisyydeltä. Kojuihin mennään ja poistutaan pimeällä eli tähän vuodenaikaan se tarkoittaa että kojussa pitää olla klo 7.30 ja sieltä voi poistua noin klo 16.30. Poistumisajankohta riippuu hieman kotkien käytöksestä, sillä toisinaan ne ovat ruokailemassa vielä melkein pimeässä! This year we have been feeding Eagles from September onwards in Utajärvi. During November in the best days we have had five different Eagles visiting the site. This is our 9th winter that we are feeding eagles here. It has been very successful feeding project and we are convinced that eagles have been benefitting from this support feeding during cold and long winters. We also have very comfortable heated hides at the site, so it is possible to photograph these beautiful and shy eagles at the close range.
